

Vere Technical Future Foundation (VTFF)
Scholarship
Purpose
The purpose of the VTFF Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students
that exhibit academic excellence, leadership qualities, and behavioral discipline
throughout their tenure at Vere Technical High School. The VTFF Scholarship will be
distributed at the beginning of the academic year (September) to at least two eligible
students (preferably in pairs i.e. one male and one female) in the 10th grade and
higher.
Criteria
Recipients of the VTFF Scholarship must satisfy the following criteria:
- Student shall be in the 10th grade or higher at Vere Technical High School
- Student shall maintain a cumulative grade average of 70 percent or higher
- Student shall exhibit academic excellence, leadership, discipline and integrity
- Student should have a desire to pursue higher education at the university level
Award
VTFF will reserve $2,500 (US or JMD equivalent) for each recipient of the VTFF
Scholarship. Funds for the VTFF Scholarship will be used to cover school-related
expenses, including:
- Tuition and administrative fees
- Textbooks and other school supplies
- Transportation and/or meal expenses

Our Work
US-SAT Reasoning Preparation Program
SAT Reasoning Test
The SAT Reasoning Test is a standardized test for college admissions in the United
States. The SAT is typically taken by high school juniors and seniors, and has three
sections:
- Critical Reading
- Writing
- Math
Each section is worth 800 points, for a maximum of 2400 points. The duration of the
SAT Reasoning test is approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes.
Criteria
The VTFF SAT Reasoning Preparation Program will be open to a maximum of 30 high
school students in the Maypen/Clarendon area. Seats will be reserved for recipients
of the VTFF Scholarship. All other seats will be open to students that satisfy the
following criteria:
- Student shall be of junior or senior status and presently enrolled in a high
school in the Maypen/Clarendon area
- Student shall have a cumulative grade average of 70 percent or higher
Class Format
VTFF will administer two SAT Preparation courses per year; each course will consist
of 13 classes. Classes for the first course will begin the in January for the May SAT
Reasoning Exam. The second course will begin in July for the November SAT
Reasoning Exam. Classes will be held on Saturdays between the hours of 12:00pm
and 4:00pm.

Vere Technical Maintenance Program
Purpose
The purpose of the VTFF Maintenance Program is to initiate and maintain funds to
assist Vere Technical High School with the maintenance and upkeep of the school’s
facility.
Goal
Our goal at VTFF is raise a minimum of $1,000,000 (JMD) annually to directly support
in the maintenance and upkeep of Vere Technical High School.
Program is scheduled to begin in July 2010
Future VTFF Programs
VTHS Teacher of the Year Award – We are developing a program/process that
would allow us to evaluate the performance of the best teacher for an academic year.
This will allow us to recognize the hard word that our teachers and reward him/her
accordingly. The winner will be awarded $200,000 (JMD), the runner up will be
awarded $100,000 (JMD), and the second runner up will be awarded $50,000 (JMD)..
VTFF College Assistance Program – We are in the process of establishing
partnership with Colleges and Universities in the United States and Jamaica to assist
students that successfully complete the VTFF SAT Reasoning Preparation course.
Programs are currently being organized.
